Fairlea Frieda

(Stonewall's Apocalypse Now x Fairlea Diana)
Black with white spots and a couple of moon spots, born 2001. Frieda has a sweet personality and produced triplets at her first kidding in 2003. Her kid Winterfield's Sinead, won Reserve Junior Grand Champion the only time I showed her in 2004, at the Bay State Nigerian Dwarf Show in June, 2004. Frieda is very dairy, but small. She easily produced enough milk for all three kids that year and was very well-behaved on the milking stand. She moved to live with Brian Jennings of Greenville Acres in Spencer, MA, and later to another farm.

Fairlea Liesl
(MCH Stonewall's Diggory Venn X MCH Fairlea Heidi) Roaned gold and white, born 2002, pictured in 2004. Liesl's name was chosen to match her sister Laurel and carry on the Germanic theme of their mother Heidi's name. Moved to live with Jennifer Holloman in on Cape Cod, where for many years she was the iconic farm totem, greeter of visitors and comforter of children.

Rosasharn's Li Hing Mui D (MCH OTR Magic's M Heracles X Stonewall's Ame EbiD) Solid black, born 1999. Li Hing is an excellent show, breeding, and milking animal with beautiful conformation, lovely manners, and a nice udder. She is a very refined doe, an outcross between Goodwood and OTR lines. Her one fault is a somewhat poorly attached foreudder. She produced triplets both the years I bred her (2003 and 2004) and fed them all easily, producing a LOT of milk. She won a Grand Champion leg and two Reserves, all three as a Junior. She arrived here originally as a visitor in 2002 and I sold her in July, 2004. She is now living with Valerie Silverthorne Longears Farm in West Newbury, MA.

Jumby Hill Farm's Rose E
(Rosasharn's Oklahoma X Rosasharn's Buttercup) A pale shade of roan (possibly a very dilute buckskin, to judge by the kids she produces), born 1998, shown in 2003. Although a beautiful goat with impeccable lineage, Rose was a five-year-old first freshener when I acquired her because her previous owner had not bred or shown her. In her first year of showing, she got a lot of nice compliments and an Excellent AGS classification score of 91.6. She is now living with Lisa Reilich, Painted Pepper Farm in Maine.

Fairlea Daisy Mae (Stonewall's Apocalypse Now x Fairlea Electra)
Grey and red buckskin with white markings, born 3/31/01. Daisy is the exact same breeding as Fairlea Troy. She was sold as a kid but never bred and later returned to me and produced triplets as a six-year-old first freshener. She is now at the Essex County Agricultural High School in Hawthorne, MA, as part of the school's new Nigerian goat project.

Rosasharn's Leela
(MCH Fairlea Gabriel Oak X Rosasharn's Li Hing Mui) Black and cream buckskin, born 2003, shown at 1 1/2 years. I bought Leela and her mother Rosasharn's Li Hing Mui along with Frieda and her daughter Sinead from Ruth Adams when she had to sell all her goats. Born here at Fairlea, Leela literally came out yelling -- hence the name, taken from Dr. Who's barbarian-but-likeable assistant. She has fortunately settled down to become quieter, but still very outgoing and friendly. She was a three-year-old first freshener because in her second winter she had a long bout of pneumonia after eating a poisonous plant and never got bred. She is now living with her mom, Li Hing, at Valerie Silverthorne's Longears Farm in Newbury, MA.

Fairlea Anya (Piddlin Acres SC Maestro X MCH Fairlea Gretchen) (Photos by Joanne Karohl)
Shaded red, born April 4, 2003, pictured at three years (2006) as a second freshener. Anya at birth looked like a pale chamoisee, but now looks more plain tan with darker shading along her spine, and on her face, chin and stomach. The only two times I showed her as a yearling she won Reserve Grand Champion Junior Doe and then Grand Champion Junior, becoming my first doe ever to win a junior champion leg. In 2006 in limited showing she has usually come second to her cousin Fairlea Lindt (who then went on to win either Grand Champion or Reserve). Anya is now living with Peggy Nugent, October Hill Farm in Granby, MA.

Fairlea Tulip (Flat Rocks Funny Cide x MCH Fairlea Heidi)
Frosty buckskin and white, born May, 2004. Tulip was sold as a kid and later returned. She is now at the Essex Agricultural High School in Hawthorne, MA, as part of their Nigerian goat project. She was nearly dry when I took this picture, so it is not a good representation of her udder.

Fairlea Elsa
(Flat Rocks Diamond Rio X Fairlea Gretchen) Polled, gold and white, born 4/10/06, one of quadruplets. Very sweet and very tiny, the tiniest doe I have ever seen, about 16 1/2 inches. This spring she had her first kids, twins, with no trouble and has a beautiful udder, well-attached and very high and wide in the rear. She now lives with Paula Kroll in Connecticut.

Fairlea Claire 3*D AR#2030 (Rosasharn's Julius X MCH Fairlea Gretchen)
A repeat of Fleur's breeding, born April, 2005, she is gold and white, but has faded to almost white as Fleur did. She is taller and more elegant in body than Fleur and her udder is even bigger and more productive. She earned her AR easily in her first freshening, with well under 305 days in milk. Photos taken August, 2008 (her second freshening). She moved to Carlene Wheeler's God's Love Farm and then to another farm.

Nell is black with a white half-belt, while Olivia looks remarkably like an appaloosa horse -- chocolate brown in front and white in the back with several round dark spots. Nell and Olivia were sold as kids but came back. Now they have a nice pet home with Brendan Light in Vermont.

(Flat Rocks Diamond Rio E X MCH Fairlea Heidi *D E) Polled, gold and white, born 2/16/07, a triplet. After producing a daughter, Fairlea Agatha here, Christie moved to PromisedLand Farm in North Carolina and then to another North Carolina farm.

Gold chamoisee and white, born 3/19/03, a triplet, photo at two years as a first freshener. Her AGS classification is 88.0 VG. I sold Sinead's mother Frieda as a kid but she eventually returned to me and produced Sinead and her sisters Sioban and Niamh at my barn before papers were transferred, so her official breeder is Ruth Adams. She has one Senior Grand Champion leg and a Best Udder award.

Polled, gold and white, born 4/6/07, a triplet. We were thrilled that Niambh's beautiful sister recently returned to us along with her young quadruplets. She has a junior leg, won from the 2-4-month-old kid class. She freshened this spring with a very productive udder, although not quite as nice as her sister's, and she should make a capacious milker. She now lives in Pennsylvania with Austin Armor Frey.

Dark chocolate with a white splash on her nose, born 5/6/09, a singleton. Pictures from 2012, as a three-year-old second freshener. I had to cut back the goat population and decided to sell Lorna when she was a yearling, but as soon as I put her up on the sale page, every time she walked by me, she gave a certain swagger and flick of her tail that said, "You're NOT going to sell me!" So after a couple days of this, I couldn't stand it any longer and had to take her off the sale page.

Black(?)-and-white doe, born 5/10/13. Unusual color - I expected her to turn chocolate all over because she had chocolate around her eyes and nose, but instead she stayed black, with an odd, dark brownish tingeing on the back half of her body. When freshly clipped, you can see that the brownish tinge is actually tiny round, very dark brown speckles mixed with the black, a sort of roan or brindle effect. Interesting markings, too - just three small splashes of white, about the same size, on each side. I thought about calling her "Three-Spot," but her mother is Helen, so that gave me the opportunity to name her after the real Helen's daughter (unlike all the other pets these days named after a certain Harry Potter character). Although she is a rather heavy-set goat (a legacy from her grand-sire Flatrocks Diamond Rio), her udder looks remarkably like Fleur's - which isn't surprising, really, considering that her breeding is almost exactly the same.
